Company background and management profiles

HRN Performance Solutions was founded in 1989 in response to a growing business demand for human resource services. Since that time, HRN Performance Solutions has expanded from a small firm into a well-respected human resources and talent management software and consulting company with an international presence. HRN Performance Solutions' focus and mission are simple: offer high quality products and services that simplify and improve the management of employees and ultimately save our clients time and money.

Management Profiles

David Adams, CEO


A native of Utah, Dave received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah before earning his master's in business administration at Utah State University. He began his career as an internal auditor for a large savings and loan and over time earned positions of increasing responsibility in the financial services industry. Mr. Adams has also taught as an adjunct professor for the University of Michigan and Wayne State University teaching financial institution management courses. Mr. Adams previously served on former Michigan Governor Granholm’s Council of Economic Advisors.

Todd Mason, President


Todd brings a successful career leading e-business partnerships and services to his position as HRN President. Mr. Mason is responsible for directing all facets of HRN operations with a focus on strategic planning, application delivery, and business/service development opportunities. He received his BA from Oakland University in English literature. Todd is a member of the CUNA Technology Council and a frequent speaker on various technology topics at industry events. Todd also occasionally freelance writes on technology topics for Gale Research.

Michele Lindsay, Executive Vice President


Michele Lindsay joined HRN in November of 1997 as the Manager of Customer Service. Since that time she has held roles of increasing responsibility and has been instrumental in the planning, development, Q/A and customer support for all HRN products and solutions. In addition Michele authored many of HRN’s user guides and technical documentation. She has worked with organizations across the country and in many industries to design and implement strategic HR solutions, including performance management, succession planning, and employee development systems. In her current position as Executive Vice President, Michele is responsible for all aspects of HRN’s operations. Before coming to HRN Michele served for 8 years in the Armed Services. Michele earned an undergraduate degree in English and History from the University of Utah.

Paul Hendrycks, Vice President Sales and Marketing


Paul Hendrycks brings over 20 years of marketing communications experience to his role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Paul joined HRN in 2005 in the role of Marketing Manager. Sales and marketing programs initiated by Paul since that time have helped fuel HRN’s dramatic growth and recognition as a top-tier HR solutions and services brand. Prior to joining HRN, Paul held marketing communications and management positions at Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Tandem Computers and the Electric Power Research Institute. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University in Graphic Design.

Lea Ann Gabbert, SPHR, Vice President, Compensation Division


Lea Ann joined HRN through the 2009 acquisition of Koker Goodwin & Associates and now leads our Compensation Division based in Wichita, KS. Lea Ann brings extensive experience to HRN in the areas of HR administration, compensation, performance management, HR consulting and employee training and development. Prior to joining KG&A in 2007, Lea Ann spent the previous 8 years in HR leadership positions at several financial institutions. Lea Ann has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management and a graduate degree in Adult and Continuing Education.  She is a member of SHRM and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). 

Michael Dougal, SPHR, Director HR Consulting


Mike Dougal leads our HR Consulting group and is responsible for providing a variety of consulting programs and services to HRN’s growing and diversified client base. Mike has nearly 20 years of progressive human resource management and consulting experience specializing in compensation systems, benefits analysis, executive performance, and staff recruiting. Prior to joining HRN in 2001, Mike held HR management and consulting positions in the federal government, as well as in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Mike is a graduate of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. 

Christine Goodman, CCP, SPHR, Director Compensation Analysis


Christine Goodman oversees the analysis of all HRN compensation system data including annual salary updates, market pricing of individual positions, and executive compensation review reports. Christine joined Koker Goodwin & Associates (now the Compensation Division of HRN Performance Solutions) in 2000. Prior to joining HRN Christine served as an Executive Officer in the British Civil Service. Christine has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources and a minor in Management. She is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Nancy Norman, Client Support Manager


Nancy Norman joined HRN in 2003 as a customer support representative where she fast became a Performance Pro product support expert. While HRN’s client base doubled in size over the following three years Nancy accepted higher levels of client support, internal process development, and training responsibilities. Currently Nancy serves in the position of Client Support Manager overseeing the continued growth and success of HRN’s Client Support and Training functions. Prior to joining HRN Nancy held several customer service and client support positions in the technology and health insurance industries. She brings a total of 15 years experience to her current leadership position.

Jerry Nelson, Founder and HR Consultant


HRN Performance Solutions was founded by Jerry P. Nelson who continues to serve in the capacity of advisor and HR consultant. Jerry has over 30 years experience in human resource management specializing in employee performance and compensation administration. Prior to founding HRN, Jerry was Sr. Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Valley Utah Bancorporation. Jerry holds a Masters Degree from Brigham Young University in Public Administration (MPA), as well as a graduate certificate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. Jerry is well respected throughout the HR community and his expertise is in high demand. He is a popular and frequent speaker, addressing national and regional audiences on a variety of human resources topics.
